Region 3 Conference Committee 2003 Goals
 
The Region 3 Conference Committee has met in e-conference several
times since the last Excom.  We
 
- Develop Region 3 training program specifically for conference
  treasurers.
 
Action: After reviewing other conference treasurer duty lists, we will
create a treasurers' list from the input to date.
 
 
- Provide assistance to Southeastcon 2003 conference committee.
 
Action: We assisted the SEC03 committee through the conference.  The
SEC03 Committee has prepared and submitted its final report of the
conference. Thanks to all who made the conference a success.
 
 
- Review and improve horizontal conferences in Region 3.
 
Action: Needs more attention. 
 
 
- Consider possible new areas, sites, and CEU credits for tutorials.
 
Action: Needs more attention. 
 
 
- Review and improve vertical conferences in Region 3. 
 
Action: Some work, but needs more attention.
 
 
- Provide Sections information on how to formally solicit Technical
  Society Conferences.
 
Action: Needs more attention.  We plan to discuss this issue at the
ATL EXCOM in November 22.
 
 
- Examine professional management for conferences. 
 
Action: Will give further consideration.  SC continues to review this
action.
 
 
- Seek bidders for SEC05, SEC06.
 
Action: We have booked SEC05 and SEC06.  We have interested bidders
for future SEC's at Richmond, Ft. Walton Beach, Tampa, Jacksonville,
and Mississippi.
