FLORIDA WEST COAST SECTION REPORT FOR REGION 3 MEETING IN ATLANTA

Activities Summary:

The Florida West Coast Section is very active and we are fortunate to
have enough volunteers to host multiple technical meetings each
month. Since the start of 2003 the Florida West Coast Section has
participated in (or plans to participate in) the following activities:

* Very successful 2003 Awards Banquet, with about 290 attendees from
  IEEE, ASME, AFE, SOLE and ASHRAE.

* Fifteen PES/IAS Chapter member meetings/seminars and twelve PES/IAS
  Chapter EXCOM meetings.

* Six CS/AESS Chapter member meetings.

* Three MTT/AP/ED Chapter member meetings.

* Two SP/COMM Chapter member meetings.

* Two Life Member Chapter Meetings

* Two Gold/PACE member meetings

* Two Student cook-outs and an SPAC (The students have become very
  active.)

* Twelve Section EXCOM Committee meetings.

* Supported four Teacher-in-Service Program presentations.

* Provided 5 judges for the Hillsborough County Science Fair and plan
  to expand into other counties.

* Activated a 1,300 section member e-mail list using the IEEE
  Majordomo server.

* Elevated many FWCS members to the Senior Member level.

* Attended four Florida Council Meetings.

* Four  I&CPS 2004 Conference Host Committee meetings.

* Two WAMI 2004 Conference Host Committee meetings.

* Three meetings of the Sections Congress 2005 Local Host Committee
  for Tampa.
