Subj: SPC Fall Report for 21 Nov 2003

Principal fall activity has involved working with Director-Elect
Harrison, formulating the Strategic Plan in a brochure format for
distribution to Reg 3 leaders as guidance.

The SPC will be active participants in several Reg 3 projects in 2004,
especially in sharing their experience and talents in enhancing the
mentoring process and participating as necessary in the development of
new leaders.

Below are the SPC 2003 G&Os and progress made thus far:

2003 SPC G&Os (and Achievements):

1. Update Reg 3 Strategic Plan 2004+ by 12-1-03, revising Reg 3 goals
   and objectives as appropriate.

   (The 2004+ Reg 3 Strat Plan has been prepared and is being
   published in brochure format for distribution at the Fall Reg 3
   meeting at www.ewh.ieee.org/reg/3/spc/sp2004-sf5.doc ).

2. Post the Reg 3 Strategic Plan 2004+ to the Web by 12-15-03.

   (The 2004+ plan will be on the web on schedule at
   www.ewh.ieee.org/reg/3/spc/sp2004-sf5.doc ).


3. Assign mentors to each Reg. 3 Committee by 1-18-03.

   (Accomplished at www.ewh.ieee.org/reg/3/spc/mentors.htm ).

4. Review Reg 3 structure and recommend combining or elimination of
   committees where appropriate by 12-1-03.

   (Some recommendations from the ad hoc Atlanta meeting 2/03
   addressed this.  This will continue into 2004).

5. Update the Reg 3 History by 10-1-03.

   (Activity initiated but not completed).

6. Review and next update Reg 3 Bylaws by 10-1-03.

   (Work underway but incomplete).

7. Review and next update Reg 3 Operations Manual by 10-1-03.

   (Work underway but incomplete).

8. Assist the Director in making sure all G&O's are being addressed.

   (The ad hoc meeting 2/03 also addressed this goal).

9. Insure all Region Committee G&O's are in support of the
   Region strategic plan.

   (Being addressed as Committee G&Os prepared).

10. Hold at least one SPC e-conference.

   (SPC members were active in various Region 3 e-conferences, but no formal
   SPC e-conference held).
