TREASURER'S REPORT A few notes related to the Region 3 financial status at the end of 2003 follow. Two region meetings were held; one in Jamaica and one in Atlanta. The total expenses for travel were about $64k. Numerous members participated in professional activities, including workshops in Jamaica and Seattle, Washington. Although most of the expenses are covered by IEEE-USA, Region 3 supplemented professional activities by about $3.7k. An excellent student conference was held in Jamaica, and Region 3 provided $19.2k for student activities throughout the year. For the year, the disbursements exceeded the receipts by approximately $38.8k. A designated account related to Section support for Sections Congress 2005 was established. Periodic contribution updates will be distributed. Region 3 assets are located in three accounts; Concentration Account, Conference Reserve Account and Long Term Investments. Interest income from the Concentration Account was $572 and interest from the Conference Reserve Account was $1060.
