REPORT TO REGION 3 EXCOM JULY, 2004

Since SoutheastCon 2004 in March the Jamaica Section has held three
Executive Committee meetings and one General meeting.  At the May
meeting, Mr. Andrew Fazio of Merit Communications Limited made a
presentation on Fibre Infrastructure in Jamaica, focusing on how it
will aid Jamaica in its development.

A tour of Merit's Infrastructure was planned for June but was
postponed because of logistical problems.  This tour is rescheduled
for August.  In July, Mr. Krishna of Digicel Jamaica will be making a
presentation on Network Security and intrusion detection.
