Dear Friends at Region3:
 
IEEE Florida Council Report for Region 3 Meeting at Atlanta, Georgia --
October 15-17, 2004

The first IEEE Florida Council meeting for the year 2004 was conducted
at Orlando, Florida on 1-14-2004.  Ten sections sent their officers
for this meeting.  The sections submitted their meeting reports and
shared their activities.

IEEE Florida Council Teleconference with Past and Present Region 3
Directors was conducted on 2-24-2004 from 9 to 10:15 p.m.  Four sections
participated at this teleconference.  Section meeting activities were
discussed.  Funding for the Section Congress 2005 was also discussed.

The second face to face meeting for Florida Council was conducted at
Greensboro, North Carolina on 26th March, 2004.  Eleven sections
participated at this meeting.  This was a well attended meeting. 

The Florida Council officers (Chair, Past Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary,
and the Treasurer) had a teleconference meeting on July 8th.

IEEE  Leadership/PACE  Training of FLORIDA section OFFICERS and Florida
Council meeting was arranged on August 14, 2004 at Orlando, Florida. 
But due to hurricane Charley, the meeting had to be cancelled.  The
above training was again arranged to be held on November 13, 2004.  But
the Region 3 Director  did not approve the expenses to be reimbursed by
the Region 3 due to budget problems.   This will be discussed at the
Florida Council meeting at Atlanta on October 15, 2004.

We are also working on the following issues:

1. Ensure that all sections have a web presence.
2. Ensure that all sections are represented at Florida council meetings.
3. Ensure that all sections are meeting IEEE reporting deadlines.
4. Ensure that all sections are posting meeting notices to FC calendar.
5. Ensure that we meet on a regular basis to exchange information and
   ideas.
