RE: Region 3 Public Information Report

The Public Information package to be mailed to each section chair in Region 
3 is almost ready for distribution. A brief cover letter will be crafted to 
convey the intent of the Public Information package as a volunteer project 
that a section can implement, if they so desire. The letter will be 
accompanied with a hard copy of the latest IEEE Publicity Guide, a sample 
FAX cover sheet with IEEE logo, and a sample news release. IEEE Headquarters 
has provided enough copies of the IEEE Publicity Guide to mail to each 
section chair in Region 3.

The cover letter will concern the use of local media (ie Newspaper, TV/Radio 
and other) to promote local meeting and section activities. IEEE 
Headquarters (ie Vicki Waldman) is supplying an updated mailing list for 
section chairs in Region 3.

An article was submitted for the next Region 3 Newsletter describing the 
above project. In addition, pictures were made at the last Region 3 meeting, 
and submitted (electronically) to the Newsletter Editor for possible use. 
Pictures, as appropriate, were either mailed or sent electronically to 
various individuals in Region 3.
