Additionally, in 2004 we continued our support of the local Educational Activities, by presenting Special Awards at the North Alabama Regional and Alabama State Science Fairs. We have continued support of the UAH IEEE Student Branch in the Hardware Competition at SoutheastCon 2004 and 2005. We successfully formed an Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Chapter early in 2004 and later in the year after the need was arose at the SoutheastCon 2004. We also formed the Engineering Management Society (EMS). The Huntsville Section meets monthly to conduct section business along with the society chapter and student branch updates. These chapters have several beneficial presentations throughout the year. A possible new Chair for the JCAMS Society has also been identified. The Huntsville Section formed a conference committee to help plan for upcoming conferences. We are very excited about a bid we submitted in February 2005 for SoutheastCon 2008. We were also Technical Sponsor for the local Huntsville Simulation Conference. We also support local K-12 science and engineering projects. In early 2005, we have begun a new Robotics Committee to support SoutheastCon and other activities. Some potential new areas for this committee, headed by Robert Robinson, include involvement at the K-12 level including BEST and FIRST. Additionally, this committee will be instrumental in our preparation for SoutheastCon 2008, if we are selected to host it. The other purpose this committee will serve is to get our other local engineering University, Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) University involved in the SoutheastCon Hardware and other activities. The scope of this committee also serves to prepare for the other competitions held at SoutheastCon. Unfortunately, we have seen a lot of arrears members this year, and we are very concerned about this and are looking for solutions to this. Additionally, James Anderson is moving out of town. He has been active for over 10 years in a lot of positions including chair, treasurer, conference treasurer, Webmaster, and many other valuable positions. We are presenting him with a plaque at our ExCom April 6, 2005 in appreciation of all he has done. Thanks, Keith Keith Jadus Chair, IEEE Huntsville Section
