Report on Southcon to the Region 3 Meeting.
 
Southcon 2005 was a good success.  It was co-located with AMCON as in several 
previous years. A good mix.  There were 64 revenue booths and 6 no charge 
trade, ERA and IEEE booths.  The exhibitors reported being well satisfied with 
the show.
 
Since ECI had pulled out and is now being dissolved the volunteers ran the 
show with paid help from Susan Kingston, Show Manager, Brenda Minkalis, short 
course coordinator and two sales persons, Brenda and Ed Martin.
 
With careful planning and control the show was financially solvent.  When the 
dust settles there should be a surplus to be split among the sponsors.
 
Plans for2006 are underway.  Southcon will be March 14-16, 2006 in the Orange 
County Convention Center and again co-located with AMCON.  Before the 2005 
show closed we had sold 16 booths for 2006 and have since received payment for 
some of the spaces.   The Southcon Board is forecasting at least 100 revenue 
booths for 2006.
