To: Region 3 ExCom Subject: LDO Status Report - July 2005 From: LDO Project Team The LDO Project is concentrating on the following activities as reflected in our Operational Plan for 2005 (See 2005 GOALS - 2. Plan and implement Phase II of the project.) * Revise the training modules based on the feedback from Phase II The Training modules and presentations are being revised per the feedback from the training sessions held at SoutheastCon 2005. * Expand the program to include all 9 Area/Council Chairs in the principles and practices that were developed in Phase I. Training sessions were held at SoutheastCon 2005 and others will be scheduled as needed via Live Meeting * Working with those chairs to build a network with their section chairs to begin a program to: **Train and mentor the section chairs in mentoring and leadership skills **Prepare and equip the section chairs for training these skills within their sections **Build a communications network and environment for open communications within and between the sections and with the Region (and its committees and initiatives). In order to assist the Sections the team is working with Bill Marshall, Atlanta Section Chair, to schedule an LDO workshop at the Section Level to begin the training of Atlanta ExCom and interested members. A presentation to the Eastern North Carolina Section is also scheduled for mid September. Both of these activities will provide valuable insight in finalizing the presentations for Sections Congress 2005 in October as well as extending the reach of LDO beyond the R3 ExCom The movement of LDO continues to extend to the Areas, Councils and Sections in the effort to engage the member, expand the volunteer base, and enhance the value of membership.
