IEEE Florida Council Meeting report

IEEE Florida Council Report for Region 3 Meeting 
The first IEEE Florida
Council meeting for the year 2005 was conducted at Orlando, Florida on
1-29-2005.  Ten sections sent their officers for this meeting.  The
sections submitted their meeting reports and shared their activities. 
Funding for the Section Congress 2005 was also discussed.  The annual
Florida Council awards were distributed to the winners.  The Section
Chairs were given Appreciation Certificates for their services. 

 
The Second Florida Council Meeting was conducted at Fort Lauderdale on
April 8th.  Once again ten sections had their representative to the
Florida Council Meeting.  However there were 12 section representatives
in Region 3 meetings.  So all the sections participated in SouthEastcon
2005.

We are also working on the following issues: 


1. Ensure that all sections have a web presence.

2. Ensure that all sections are represented at Florida council meetings.

3. Ensure that all sections are meeting IEEE reporting deadlines.

4. Ensure that all sections are posting meeting notices to FC calendar.

5. Ensure that we meet on a regular basis to exchange information and ideas.

We are planning to have two future meetings this year. One meeting on
October 13th at Tampa, Florida before Section Congress meeting and
another meeting in November during the Board Meeting in Orlando.

The Florida Council is functioning very well.
