I appreciate the kind thoughts and well wishes that I have received
these last 2 months following the 2005 Elections. Now the reality of the
office of Director -Elect for Region 3 is finally sinking in. I am
elated by the challenges we are facing and simultaneously humbled by the
accomplishments of George McClure, Bill Harrison and the long and
distinguished line of Region 3 leaders. Thank you for your service and
contributions to the members of IEEE, the profession and society. All of
the Region 3 Directors are a though act to follow.

The upcoming Region 3 ExCom Meeting 27-29 January 2006 in Atlanta is an
opportunity for us to align our individual objectives and maximize the
impact of our effort. I hope you are planning to attend.

Planned Activities 2006:

-	Region 3 Section/ Chapter Coordination Committee
-	Support to Region 3 Committees as Required
Note: I have already received assignments from the Communications Committee.<G>
-	Region 3 Strategic Planning Committee - Corresponding Member
-	Region 3 LDO Team Member
-	RAB/TAB Section/Chapter Support Committee
          o Electronic Communications Coordinator Subcommittee, Chair
-	Information Technology Strategy Committee - Corresponding Member
-	Attend the IEEE BoD and OU Series Meetings as Required
-	????

If I have missed anything I am sure it will be brought to my attention.

I am looking forward to enhancing current working relationships and
creating new ones with the Volunteers and Members in Region 3 and
throughout the Institute.
