Subject: Region 3 Membership Development Report, January 13, 2006 Date: Friday, January 13, 2006 2:16 PM Region 3, If we organize and work together, 2006 can be the best year ever for Region 3. In the months ahead, the IEEE and Region 3 have planned a number of activities that will educate and motivate not only existing Members but a vast potential base of new Members. With a bit of planning, your Section / Chapter can utilize these events as part of your Membership campaign. To help you identify events in your area, go to the web site at https://www.ieee.org/conferencesearch/ A key Membership event that is coming up fast is EWEEK. Make sure that you are ready by reviewing the EWEEK web site at https://www.eweek.org/ Now is also the time to work on the basics of your 2006 Membership campaign. At a minimum, please begin the following 1. Find a volunteer MD Chair for every Region 3 Section / Chapter and let me know who that person is. More MD Chair information can be found at https://www.ieee.org/organizations/rab/md/mdresources.html 2. Have every Officer send their complete physical address / email address to the IEEE for the SAMIEEE database. 3. Ask every Member to send their email address in to the IEEE. 4. Create a Membership Development campaign around Section, Chapter, Region and IEEE events. 5. Challenge each Section Member to find one new Member each. 6. Ensure that the local Section MD Chair participates in the monthly MD econf. 7. Put Membership links on your web site and every newsletter. These links include the new Membership Portal at https://www.ieee.org/myieee . 8. Challenge your Public Relations Chair / Newsletter Editor to submit IEEE articles to the local media. Let me know what your ideas are. Just think, we could add 10,000 Members to Region 3 this year if we can work together. I'm ready, are you?
