Region 3 Public Information Report

Public information support for the Region continues using various venues. 
Photo displays were organized and displayed at the 2005 Section Congress in 
Tampa and the Board Series meetings in Orlando. The PIO staffed the Region 3 
booth at SC05 to represent the region, answer questions, and distribute 
literature. Approximately 300 people visited the booth.

IEEE Headquarters requested photos of various R3 events that were supplied. 
Photographs were sent for the above two events to Eric Ackerman for use on 
the R3 Web Page, and to Quang Tang for use in the R3 Newsletter.

The IEEE Institute interviewed me for preparation of an article with PR 
suggestions and recommendations. This interview appeared in the latest issue 
of the Institute, page 18. I also submitted an article to the IEEE Broadcast 
Technology Society (BTS) with a "PR spin" regarding a recent East TN Section 
meeting focusing on Digital Television Developments. The article appeared in 
the latest issue of the BTS publication.

As part of the Communications Committee, I'm working on a PR package to be 
introduced at SoutheastCon to promote membership for use by the R3 sections.

I'm continuing to work (and promote) the use of the "Media" by R3 sections 
to promote attendance and their meetings, and highlight significant 
achievements by their members.

Photo displays are planned at SoutheastCon in Memphis to focus on IEEE R3 
activities, along with the PR membership package for membership (mentioned 
above).
