Archive Management Initiative Report 
28 August 2006 

Progress on this initiative has not been as much as I would hope, and it
is no one's fault but my own. I hope for us to make some real progress
this fall.

Two people have stepped forward to help out on aspects of this project:
David Bower, our Public Information Chair, and Dr. Jim Anderson of FWCS.
I look forward to spending some time with them and any other interested
parties (HINT HINT) very soon to start working on a plan.

If you have interest in this project, even to a small extent, please let
me know. We will be meeting electronically a few times before the fall
meeting 27-29 Oct in Atlanta.

I have jotted a few notes on this project at a wiki page at

including some very insightful thoughts from David Bower. If you would
