Subject: South Carolina Council Report

This is to inform the ExCom committee of the status of the South
Carolina Council as of August 2006. We have had a total of three
meetings this year(two e-conferences and the meeting at SoutheastCon),
with another face-to-face meeting set for early October. We have elected
a new Secretary, Jerry Clark, after starting the year with a dual
Secretary/Treasurer. We have completed the necessary disclosure
statements and Financial Operations Review forms to distribute to the
necessary entities. Our financial status is in good standing to support
any necessary activities needed for our sections. All sections within
our Council area are holding their regular meetings, but as is the case
in a number of sections, some are having trouble maintaining officers.
Lee Stogner has been keeping us apprised of the status of the Membership
Develpment Committee and what they are trying to do to stimulate growth
throughout IEEE. We will have representatives from the Council at the
fall Region 3 meeting in Atlanta.
