IEEE Region 3 Knowledge Capture Initiative Report December 2006 A small but energetic group met as part of the breakout for our initiative during the R3 meeting in Atlanta in October, and we have a larger group of volunteers that are eager to get some progress made on this project / initiative. The next step is a meeting that I have scheduled with IEEE staff next week in NJ to determine the legal, corporate, and financial issues that need to be addressed as part of our project. I anticipate a series of e-conf meetings and an asynchronous online discussion to begin over the next few weeks with some definite action items begun before the end of the year. This will be reported at the January excom meeting. We hope to have a strawman to take to RAB in February for feedback from other regions and a progress report for the next face to face meeting in Richmond in March. As always, everyone's help is needed and MUCH appreciated. A big THANKS to all who stepped forward at Atlanta - you will be hearing from me late next week once I return from Piscataway. Charles J.
