TREASURER'S REPORT 11 DECEMBER 2006 As we near the end of the 2006 budget year, a few items will be noted. 1. RAB distributed $175,000 in unspent funds to the Regions. The Region 3 share was $15,957. As a result, the Region should end the year with revenues exceeding disbursements. 2. For both the SoutheastCon and Atlanta meetings, about a dozen participants did not submit expense reports. As a result, the travel expenses are below budget. 3. By the end of the year, the IEEE-USA requirement to spend the allocated funds will be met. 4. Through October, the Region 3 assessment amount is slightly below the 2005 amount at the same time. 5. The Region 3 Finance Committee continues to develop the 2007 budget. At the present time, a deficit budget is forecast. Please cooperate with the committee if a request is made to justify the proposed budget under your responsibility. 6. During a recent RAB teleconference with the 10 Region treasurers, it was noted that the SSVR report of 2006 expenses will be reviewed and used as a metric for funding in 2008. 7. Through October, the long-term investment account has increased by 8.46%. The above items represent highlights for the year. If you have questions, please contact me. Charles
