Director's Report The main focus this month is on reporting activities for 2006. February 23 is the deadline for reports to earn the 10% bonus. Reports received after 31 March will NOT earn any rebate. Remember that to qualify a report must include L31 meeting reports, the L50 financial report, the officer report, and conflict of interest disclosures for section chair and treasurer. The reports received thus far are impressive for levels of activity. With reports received from 36 of 41 sections, there were 600 meetings reported, including 324 section meetings, 5 subsection meetings, 244 chapter meetings, and 27 affinity group meetings. The most active sections were Western North Carolina (48 meetings), Broward (25) and Eastern North Carolina (24). The most active chapter was Orlando ED/CMPT, with 24 meetings. You will find reporting requirements and can see the full report at https://www.ieee.org/web/geo_activities/rab/scs/Required_Reporting/geo-unit-activity.html A continuing problem is the lack of membership development chairs. Some 39 percent of the Region 3 sections do not include a MD chair in their roster. The largest of these is the Atlanta section. To see your section roster as reported, go to www.ieee.org/roster Please be sure to include a designated MD chair in your report of new officers for 2007. Be sure your section is represented at the Region 3 meeting during Southeastcon 2007 in Richmond. https://www.southeastcon.org/2007/region/ The deadline for hotel room reservations is February 20. Conference registrations after February 28 will incur a higher fee. See you in Richmond!
