IEEE SoutheastCon 2007 Report to EXCOM

The train called SoutheastCon is rolling down the hill at a break-neck
pace. Fortunately, it appears we are driving the train and not standing
on the tracks at the bottom of the hill waiting for it to arrive!

We currently have 593 registered attendees for SoutheastCon 2007
bringing in a total of over $98,000. We have secured a Champion
Contribution from Dominion in the amount of $10,000. We also have
activity registrations of over $3400! This brings our total income to
over $111,000!

I have attached a registration breakdown for your information.

We have also secured Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine as contributor to
the Student Software competition with a $1,000 prize pool to be
distributed among the winners.

Our conference committee is working diligently and we have just sent our
proceeding and print program to press. All items will be ready for the
conference.

We have met our room block and sold out the Marriott. We have contracted
with the Omni hotel for a small block of rooms at a rate of $145/night.

We have secured and confirmed all of our speakers for the event. The
Mayor of Richmond will be welcoming all the attendees at the opening
reception.

All in all, we are ready to go and can't wait to see you all in
