The Florida Council conducted four meetings in 2007:  
   - 03 February at Nova Southeastern University, Orlando, FL. 
   - March (at SoutheastCon 2007), Richmond, VA 
   - 29 September at Nova Southeastern University, Orlando, FL. 
   - Our fourth meeting on Friday 26 October in Birmingham, AL concluded our meeting schedule for the year. 

Most Sections have remained active throughout the year, each with a variety of successes and challenges. A
common recurring theme has been the concept of “sharing” resources and information, with one other and with
other OUs. Some of the smaller Sections have expressed the need for increased collaboration among adjacent
Sections.

There continues to be lively interaction among Council members during face-to-face interactions. A major
issue under contemplation is how do we measure our groups’ “state(s) of health,” as a way to gauge where we
currently are, where we should orient ourselves in the future, and what actions to take next? This is coupled
with pondering the question of the value of the Sections to the Council, and of the Council to the Sections.
Florida Council members will be addressing these discussion points in the coming months.

The Council has experienced a “changing of the guard” this year. Our Secretary, David Eaton, decided to step
down to devote more time to his expanding family (congratulations on the new addition!). Council Treasurer,
Joe Juisai, accepted a new job offer in California. Two of our extremely active volunteers have graciously
stepped up to the challenge(s), and have been appointed as Secretary and Treasurer, for the remainder of the
year.

Elections for 2008 will be conducted during our first meeting of the year, in late January/early February.
