The Columbia South Carolina Section respectfully submits the following report
 
2008 Section Officers remain the same as 2007.
The Treasurer is expected to change soon and this will be updated.
January meeting: No meeting
February meeting: TBD – possibly Arc Flash Calc review paper.
 
We continue to try to meet our goals and overcome obstacles.
 
Goals:

Continue finding a variety of relevant technical topics, social and fun events to enhance the professional lives of our
members.

Work more with the University of South Carolina student branch.

Reach out into the community in a greater fashion. One recent suggestion was to invite local news reporters to our
technical sessions so they can publish us.
 
Obstacles:

Lagging volunteerism amongst membership.  Apathy.

Retention of members

Low attendance at meetings, there has been some improvement more recently.
