Subject:    Florida Council/Area 4 Report

The Florida Council of IEEE (FCIEEE) will conduct its first face-to-face meeting of 2008
on 1 March, in Orlando, FL. Discussion items will include checking in on the current
status of each Section's "state of health" and development of a strategic financial plan
for the Council, going forward. In addition, the following goals will be pondered and
updated:

STANDING GOALS

    1) Hold at least 3 face-to-face FCIEEE Meetings.
    2) Have at least 1 Econf for the FCIEEE.
    3) Have all Sections represented at SoutheastCon 2008.
    4) Ensure all Sections have a Headquarters Signatures on all their accounts.
    5) Ensure all Sections file their reports in time to receive the additional rebate.
    6) Ensure that the FCIEEE Awards Chair is working closely with the Region Awards
       Chair.
    7) Ensure that the FCIEEE Membership Chair is working closely with the Region
       Membership Chair.
    8) Ensure that all of the information on the FCIEEE website is up-to-date.
    9) Encourage all sections to use the calendar feature in the FCIEEE website.


We are also working to ensure full Section participation at these significant upcoming
events:

- Local representatives (FWCS, Orlando) in attendance at the 53rd State Science and
  Engineering Fair of Florida, 16-18 April in Lakeland, FL.
- IEEE-USA Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, IN.
- Sections Congress 2008 in Quebec City, CAN.


Our next face-to-face meeting will be held during SoutheastCon 2008 in Huntsville, AL.
