Past Director's Report

Director Ratcliff asked me to provide background material for the request by IEEE-USA that regions as well as societies provide liaison members for IEEE-USA government relations policy committees.  Liaisons are voting members of their committees, attending meetings either in person or by teleconference.  For Region 3, the liaisons would provide timely reports to the Region on activities of the committees.

The committee meetings are usually held in Washington, DC.  There are from three to six meetings per year per committee.  The committees are:

     - Energy Policy Committee             https://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/committees/epc/
     - Committee on Communications Policy  https://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/committees/ccp/
-Committee on Transportation and Aerospace Technology Policy  https://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/committees/ctap/
     - Medical Technology Policy Committee  https://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/committees/mtpc/
     - Research & Development Policy Committee https://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/committees/rdc/
     - Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee https://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/committees/cipc/
     - Committee on Career and Workforce Policy  https://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/committees/cwpc/

Your time and Region 3 budget constraints dictate that most meetings will be attended by teleconference.  IEEE-USA does not reimburse for travel to these meetings.

I will collect the names of those interested in working with any of these committees.

More details, including rosters of the committees will be emailed to any interested in learning more.  Send me a request with "GR Info" in the subject line.

Volunteers have been identified for  CTAP, MTPC, and CIPC.
