Subject: IEEE R3 ExCom - SPC Report for 2/25/2008 Meeting

The SPC has approved the following 2008 Goals and Objectives:

Region 3 Strategic Planning Committee
2008 Goals and Objectives

1.  Provide Mentors to those Regional Committees as requested by the 
respective committee chairs and/or the Regional Director.  Mentors will 
encourage their committees to develop, adopt and implement Goals and 
Objectives to be accomplished and reported on annually.  Mentors will report 
on their respective committee's activities to the SPC at SoutheastCon 2008.

2.  Review the Region Bylaws and Operations Manual for required and proposed 
changes by March 15, 2008.  If the needed changes are a result of the IEEE 
directive to delete the reference to Regional Activities Board (RAB) and 
replace it with Member and Geographic Activities Board (MGAB) request the 
Regional Director to request a waver from the requirement to have the Region 
Committee and MGAB approve those changes.

3.  Continue to provide counsel to the Regional Director and Executive 
Committee to minimize problems in the Region operation.


The following is a list of R3 ExCom members who have agreed to serve as 
Mentor to the respective listed committee.  If your committee or position 
would like to have a Mentor appointed please contact Director Ratcliff or 
Dick Riddle.
