Region 3 Director Elect Report 3/19/08


Region 3,
 
As mentioned in an earlier report, I'm wearing several "hats" again this
year. In addition to Region 3 Director Elect, I'm also the Region 3
Membership Development Chair. In this capacity, I am working with
Sections and Student Branches to help them retain existing members and
develop new members. If you are part of a Society Chapter within Region
3, we will also help you grow your organization.

To be successful in 2008, we need to have a complete team of MD Chairs
through out Region 3. As of today, the IEEE database shows the following
Region 3 Sections without a MD Chair,
 
Evansville - Owensboro Section
Louisville Section
Mobile Section
Central North Carolina Section
Charlotte Section
Coastal South Carolina Section
Columbia Section
Canaveral Section
Jacksonville Section
Virginia Mountain Section
 
Please try to fill these positions as soon as possible, we have a lot to
do this year and a strong base of membership is critical to what we can
do. As an idea for where you can find a strong volunteer for Membership
Development, look to your local GOLD organization. For 2008, the GOLD's
have made a promise to fill any unfilled MD Chair positions. Let me know
if you need help connecting with the GOLD Team.

On one final membership note, the IEEE Terminator has run and identified
members that have not renewed for 2008. You can create a report of these
members by using a SAMIEEE query. I will also be distributing EXCEL
spreadsheets listing non renewing members. Let's use this data and not
lose any of our membership base.

own education as well as training for your local IEEE entity. These two
