Region 3 Professional Activities Report

At this time, we are gearing up for the IEEE-USA Annual Meeting, in
Indianapolis, April 25-27, 2008.

   So far, we have 11 Section PACE representatives, who have made plans
   to attend.
   
   Given the budget amount limitation of $10,090, I can support
   individuals with $700 towards to the total trip expenses, and the
   maximum number of individuals I can support at this level, is 14.
   
   The deadline for regular registration of $380 is tomorrow, Thursday
   March 20, 2008. Starting Friday March 21, 2008, the registration fee
   will go up to $465.
   
   We will provide PACE training at the Annual Meeting.

   Attendees will be asked to draw up plans for conducting PDS's and
   other projects in the fall.

   We have 15 people who have made plans to attend the Annual Meeting.
   After careful consideration of several highly qualified candidates,
   Ms. Susan Ronning, Chair of the IEEE Memphis Section, has accepted my
   invitation to serve as Region 3 Professional Activities Vice Chair.
   Susan brings leadership, section experience, new ideas, and enthusiasm
   to Region 3 Professional Activities. I look forward to working with
   Susan in this capacity, and I am confident she will be an asset to the
   Region 3 Team. Please help give Susan a warm Region 3 welcome.
