IEEE Region 3 Leadership Development and Regional Support Chair IEEE Region 3 Member Engagement and Development Chair Combined Report to Region 3 December 8, 2008 Much progress is being made to roll out the new MGA Zeitgeist (getting tired of the word Paradigm ), but much more needs to be done. In an effort spearheaded by my Vice Chair Butch Shadwell, Director Ratcliff and I travelled to the Jacksonville Section a week ago. The meeting was not only a rollout of the MGA vision but also a chance for the members in the section to give their feedback on that vision and to begin to identify needs as well as opportunities for the members of the section to become engaged and enmeshed. The response was quite positive and will be a model for additional such sessions with other sections. As Director Ratcliff pointed out in his report, there is still much to do. Priorities for 2009 will be to: - continue to foster cooperation between LD, PACE, Edu Activities, and others to develop world-class training for our volunteers and members - develop 'basic training' for our incoming (and existing!) volunteers in 2009 and beyond - continue to develop and engage the member and future members of the IEEE - other projects and duties at the discretion of the Director Charles J.
