Call for Director-Elect Nominations-

The Nominations & Appointments Committee is proposing a slate of two
candidates for Director-Elect, 2010-2011. The two are Dr. Eric Ackerman and
Prof. David Green.

There will be a final Call for Nominations presented at this ExCom meeting.
This is an opportunity to present additional candidates to the Region
Committee.

The nominator of an additional candidate must provide written concurrence
from the candidate that s/he is willing to serve if elected, in addition to
a Curriculum Vitae. The CV should detail the candidate's previous Region 3
volunteer activities as well as education and professional experience.

The deadline for other D-E nominations is Monday, January 5, 2009, at 5:00
p.m. EST.

Volunteers Sought for Region Appointments-

Our most valuable asset is our volunteers. We always welcome new volunteers
and the opportunity to explore new assignments for existing volunteers.

Region 3 has twelve standing committees and, currently, eighteen ad hoc
committees established and serving at the pleasure of the director.

One of the ways in which members can get started as region volunteers is as
committee members or vice chairs. The extent of involvement can be tailored
to the time availability of the volunteer.
