Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note since I am running very late in getting this to you but it
seems to match my "just in time" reporting methodology these days.

The IEEE Board met, a week ago at the recent board series to evaluate candidates
for the Executive Director position. A selection was made but a contract has not
as yet been signed so stay tuned for the results.

The Wall Street meltdown uh er downturn has not as yet reached bottom but is
impacting IEEE's investments as well as our own. Please keep Director-Elect
Stogner informed of possible layoffs so that we might be agile in our response
to help our fellow members.

I hope you have renewed your membership. We'll also hear more from Lee about the
member recovery operations underway.

SoutheastCon is rapidly approaching and I trust your preparations are complete.
We'll discuss more of that at the ExCom meeting.
