Congratulations to Siemens Energy and Automation for being selected as the winner of the
2008 IEEE Region 3 Employer Professional Development Award. This award was judged by members
of the Region 3 Educational Activities Committee. The purpose of this award is to recognize
organizations in Region 3 which employ IEEE members for outstanding contributions by the
organization to employee continuing education and professional development as evidenced by
their quality, comprehensiveness, innovation, or impact. The presentation of the 2008 IEEE
Region 3 Employer Professional Development Award will be made at the SoutheastCon 2009
Awards Banquet on Saturday evening, March 7th, in Atlanta, Georgia. Thanks to the Region 3
Educational Activities Committee members for their participation in selection process.

We are continuing to solicit participation by the Region 3 Sections on the Region 3
Educational Activities Committee. Director Ratcliff has indicated that he has "big" plans
for this committee during the course of the coming year and we will need help to meet his
challenge!

If you are the Educational Activities Chair for your Section, or just a Section member who
is interested in Educational Activities, we would invite you to join our committee. All we
need is a recommendation from your Section Chair.
