Jusko and Wichmann. New committee chairs were appointed for PACE (Jeanette and Dr. William Barrott) and Media (Dr. Hugh Ward). Existing chairs continued for MD (Dr. Ilteris Demirkiran), Life (Ron Gedney), and Awards (Dr. Thomas Yang). Dr. Jianhua Liu continues for Student Activities, and Charles Husbands for Webmaster and Small Radio Telescope lead. Dr. Tim Wilson continued as Computer Society Chair. We also supported Engineers Week (February16-19) at ERAU by a financial donation, judging posters (George Till and Ron Gedney), participating in a panel discussion about the profession of engineering (Ron Gedney and Charlie Husbands) and attending the banquet (Dr. Thomas Yang, Dr. Ilteris Demirikiran, Tracy Wichmann, Roger Grubic, and Al Jusko). The keynote speaker on February 16 was Homer Hickam, author of “Rocket Boys” and the basis for the film “October Skies” – a very inspirational event. The banquet speaker was Jason Lovelace from Disney Orlando. Computer Society Meetings: Two meetings were held November 19: Dr. Richard Stansbury and Jonathon Maroff “IDEA- Intelligent Driving Efficiency Assistant and EcoCar” March: Dr. David Gluch “Model based Software Engineering: AADL in Action” Life Members: A Company tour was held at Tel-Tron in Daytona Beach on November 10. The Small Radio Telescope (SRT) has made great progress overcoming the impact of the flood damage to the Daytona Museum of Arts and Science (MOAS). An internal WiFi link was installed allowing communication from the MOAS auditorium and work is well underway to allow the SRT to be controlled external to the museum. Lesson plans and revised display software are also underway. Recognition: We nominated Dr. Liu for Florida Council Educator of the Year and Charles Husbands for the Service Award. Dr. Tim Wilson was appointed as the new chair for The Electrical, Computer, Software and Systems Engineering (ECSSE) Department at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He also co-coordinated the 2010 Engineers Week at ERAU. Student Chapter Chair Jason Davis was recognized as the Outstanding Student Bachelor of Science in Engineering at ERAU during Engineers Week Jonathon Maroff was recognized as Outstanding Student, Master of Software Engineering at ERAU during Engineers Week.
