The Lexington Section elected new officers at the end of 2009. The Officers for 2010 are as follows: Chair: John Barnes Vice Chair: Jerry Goerz Treasurer: Ray Williams Secretary: Chris Franklin Membership: Don Hill PACE: Stuart Talbert Past Chair: Adam Case Ward Educational Outreach: Jack McKinney Awards: Elwood West Student Chapter Counselor: Regina Hannemann Webmaster: Adam Case Ward During 2009, the section held 13 regular meetings (all but two were technical meetings). We had in addition to the regular meetings, three EXComm Meetings of the section officers. Several of the regular meetings were on the topic of Energy and included several state officials include the Kentucky Secretary to the Energy Cabinet. Additional activies included the Section Sponsoring the first Fayette County Schools Summer Robotics Camp for incoming Fifth Graders. The camp was a week long and was staffed by Fayette County School Teachers (via a short STEM Grant) and IEEE Section Members. The camp was open to select students from three county elementary schools. It was considered a great success with a lot of PR making thru the entire community. The students demonstrated their robots at the Sections Cookout at The University of Kentucky in late August. The work has already been placed for a second camp to be held in the summer of 2010 with seven schools in the list of invitees. The Lexington Section is already laying ground work to expand this program out to several other counties surrounding the Lexington area. This is the report on the Lexington Section for 2009. Thanks, Adam Case Ward 2010 Past Lexington Section Chair
