Southeastcon 2010 Status Report 3/8/2010 Registration: We have 583 paid registrations, including 72 Region 3 members, 351 students, and the remaining technical attendees. This number does not include the 27 paid guests, 40 non-paid volunteers, and approximately 60 exhibitors. This means we will have over 710 people present at the conference. Exhibitors: We have about 30 exhibit tables allocated, with over $60,000 of contributions and exhibit fees. We will have a VERY large and busy exhibit space. We still have companies contacting us about space. Hotel room pickup: We have reservations for 575 of 600 rooms promised (95.8%). There is still a possibility for people to get rooms, but they need to talk to our hotel contact directly (Traci Burnett, 704-454-1714). Student program: We have 42 university and 8 “open division” teams participating in the hardware contest. We are considering others. Our software contest got a late start organizing, but we will publicize it in the next few days. We encourage all R3 members to attend the Professional Development Seminar being held on Friday, March 19. Contact Mary Ellen Randall (mer1-at-ascottechnologies.com) if you are interested in adding it to your registration We have a VERY strong technical program, including over 30 free 50-minute tutorial slots. We had to cancel all but 7 tutorials due to low attendance. We will reexamine the remaining ones this week. See you in Charlotte-Concord!
