Region 3 EAB has been working with the EAB chair of Region 5 on best EA practices in both regions as well as the new role of EAB under MGA. John Meredith is the EAB chair in Region 5. His e-mail is john4meredith@yahoo.com if you have best EA practices to share. EAB as evolves, we want to be able to assist with programs that overlap with our new role. Specifically, as new initiatives are piloted under MGA challeng that have an educational component, EAB would like to assist/partner. Case in point is the MGA Challenge proposal coming from Ed Kirchner concerning Career Development/Employment Assistance. EAB would like to assist Ed and his team in moving this forward. In addition to the obvious intersection with the new role of EAB of this new initiative, the companies who embrace Ed's vision for this program would be likely candidates for nomination for the IEEE Region 3 Professional Development Award. Speaking of Awards, EAB at the corporate level has extended the deadline for a number of EAB awards to May 28th. I know there are IEEE Region 3 qualified candidate for these awards and the extension of deadline probably indicates that our good Region 3 people/entities would be strongly considered. A thumbnail sketch of these awards follows: IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB) 2010 Awards Meritorious Achievement Award in Accreditation Activities Nominee must be a current IEEE Member.
