Dick Riddle's contribution, over these many years, has directly influenced the
success of Region 3, the entire IEEE and your success as well. I am truly
grateful for his service and look forward to many more years of his
involvement in the future even using more electronic collaboration and less
face to face time.

The bottom line of our success involves engaging more of the members of IEEE.
The ability to achieve the advancement of technology for the benefit of
humanity, help the members employment opportunities / careers ... Depends on
the level of engagement of all the people - Hu (human element) in IEEE.

The work on Region 3 N&A in preparation for selection of a slate of Candidates
for Delegate Director Elect 2012-2013 requires the work of a team. Please join
me in thanking George McClure and Bill Harrison for their hard work,
dedication and Steadfast commitment in developing a proposed slate of
candidates submitted for approval at the Fall meeting on 3 October.

The IEEE Strategic Planning committee has occupied a great deal of my "free
time" these past several months.
