Florida Council Report for Region 3 January 2011Excom Meeting

Florida Council held its 2010 last meeting on December 11th, Saturday, in
Orlando, FL. Eight of 12 sections sent chairs/delegates to attend the meeting;
two section chairs were not able to personally attend, but submitted report.
The remianing two absent section chairs were sent e-mail to follow up their
status.

At the meeting section chairs/delegates reported their section activities
since September Council meetings. Treasurer Dr. Anderson reported 2010
operating results. Council Award Committee Chairman Carl Lohman announced 2010
awards winners. The 2010 FCIEEE awards went to Mr. Serge Beauzile (Outstanding
Engineer) of the FWC Section, the Outstanding Engineering Educator awards went
to Dr. Tianqu Yang of the Daytona Section and the Outstanding Service awards
went to Mr. Charles R. Husbands from Daytona Section as well.

At the meeting, the council also elected its new officers for 2011-2012 terms.
The new officers are:

Council Chairman: Dr. Donghui Wu of Orlando Section
Vice Chairman & Tresurer: Dr. Jim Anderson of Florida West Coast Section
Secretary: Mr. Tracy Whichman

Other issues like, sections and council year end reporting, 2011 Section
Congress, and Council 2011 meeting schedules were also discussed. Next Council
meeting will be at Region 3 Spring meeting.
