AREA 9 REPORT FOR JANUARY 24, 2011, REGION 3 EXCOM Introduction Jamaica’s position in Region 3 is very well cemented and has become a normal part of the fabric of the Region. The achievements over the years have helped the Section to gain recognition as a member of this community. As we approach a new year, we have renewed our commitments to ensure that it does not lose the status of being a very active section to one of complacency. The Officers of the IEEE Jamaica Section for the year 2011 are: Daniel Tulloch-Reid – Chair, Carolyn Ferguson – Secretary, David H. Miller – Treasurer. The Area 9 Chair is Wilfred A. Roberts SoutheastCon 2010 Despite several challenges, such as logistics, financing and late preparation among many others the UTech Student Branch participated in SoutheastCon 2010 Student Conference. In attendance were Student Branch Chair, Kimroy Bailey, Secretary, Marlon Mendez, and Student Member, Brent Richards. Representing Jamaica were Section Chair, Daniel Tulloch-Reid and Region 3, Area 9 Chair, Wilfred A. Roberts.
