Government Relations Council Report The Committee on Transportation and Aerospace Policy (CTAP) is organizing the theme, "Electric Vehicles and Personal Transportation Workshop" for the IEEE-USA Annual Meeting, to be held in Austin, TX, 3-6 March 2011. https://www.ieeeusa.org/calendar/workshops/EVPT/default.asp Two new position statements from CTAP are Restructuring ITAR Technology Expert/Inport Controls and U.S. Economic Competitiveness and Intelligent Transportation Systems Technology. Congressional Visits Day is planned for 6-7 April in Washington, DC. It was sponsored by the Employment Assistance Committee. It can be found from https://www.ieeeusa.org/ There are eleven committees within the Government Relations Council. https://www.ieeeusa.org/volunteers/committees/default.asp Region 3 has corresponding members for many of them, serving as liaisons to keep the region posted on events of interest. A liaison is needed for the Committee on Communications Policy (CCP). CCP invites IEEE U.S. members who have an interest in public policy coupled with expertise in the field of computers, communications, and Internet technology and who are willing to be active contributors to the committee's activities to join the committee as a Corresponding Member (CM). As CM, you will be invited to recommend committee activities, comment on draft position statements and testimonies, and otherwise participate in the business of the committee. To become a CM, please provide a brief description of your interest and expertise in this area and submit to d.rudolph@ieee.org.
