Item needing Region 3 Leadership attention
The IEEE Mobile Section is inactive and has not filed a report or held a
meeting in over 1 year. Attempts to contact the last officers have not been
successful.
Recommend contacting all members in the Mobile geographic area and arranging a
meeting to provide temporary officers who will rebuild the Section.
Mississippi Section report for 2011

The Mississippi Section held ten monthly meetings in 2010 including tours of a
local Steam Electric Plant, an Automobile Manufacturing facility, a Steel
Plant, an International Airport and presentations on IEEE USA ,
Telecommunication Services, and Financial Services. We also held one all day
professional development seminar including an ethics course required for
Professional Engineer license renewal in Mississippi. Details are available at

The next meeting will be a joint IEEE/ASME meeting on March 28 Dipak J.
Negandhi, Unified Brands presenting the Environmental Protection Agency's
Energy star Program.
2011 Section officers are Catherine Anderson, Chair, Joel Harris, Vice Chair,
Samrat Datta, Secretary, and Joe Savage, Treasurer.

Dave Green, R3 Director Elect may represent the Section at Southeastcon.
Elections are in process for 2011 and Dan Merkl and team will continue until
replacements are installed.
Huntsville, AL Section https://www.ieee-huntsville.org/
Bob Robinson, Section Chair has been elected for 2011, along with Tommy
McGuire, Vice Chair, and Roger Bolton, Secretary. Huntsville supports two
student groups – AL A&M and University of Alabama at Huntsville. Technical
societies holding regular meetings are Aerospace & Electronic Systems Society,
Computer Society, Electromagnetic Compatibility Society, JCAM (AP&MTT)
Technical Management Society. The Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) have an
active chapter.
