Communications Committee Meeting at Southeastcon 2011

We held a committee meeting at SoutheastCon to review the Communications
Committee priorities and plan of action.

We plan to transform the Communications Committee to the Information
Management Committee, IMComm. We plan to eliminate the Electronic
Communications System Coordinator who maintains our now defunct servers. In
his place we will appoint an Automated Tools Coordinator responsible for
training and integrating automated tools into our Region operations.

The member engagement strategy creates a tension between using and sharing
member data and the members right to privacy. We have developed a draft
charter and will seek Region 3 Committee members to chair this once the
Executive Committee approves it.

The Region 3 Section list (SEC-R03) continues to be less than optimum. We sat
down with the Region Secretary and identified some possible solutions. I have
developed a test plan and will implement it before 1 April. Please be on the
lookout for these test messages and respond promptly.

There is a lot of interest in vTools training. We will work with the
Leadership Development Committee to deliver webinars soon. Once we have
stabilized the Section list, we will announce a schedule. Overview
presentations on vTools will be delivered on selected evenings using DimDim.
Based on feedback from these sessions, we will deliver additional training on
demand.
