Memphis  Section Report – March 2011

There are no issues requiring action by the Region 3 Committee or ExCom at
this time.

The Memphis Section held elections for officers in January. Below is our
current list of officers.

The Memphis Section held the annual SPAC conference in February and included
an opportunity for the professionals to earn two pdhs. Our EMBS society is
very active and has at least two meetings every month. Our power society held
a talk by TVA on strategic planning and one on Smart Grids by MLG&W and has
another talk on Solar Panels (originally scheduled for January and postponed
due to snow) by sharp manufacturing scheduled in May. They are also working on
setting up a tour of the Allen Steam Plant in April or May. Also the
past-chair and Tennessee Council Vic Chair, Susan Ronning, organized and
conducted to Resume and Interview Workshop in October. They are also working
on setting up a tour of the Allen Steam Plant in April or May.
