Region 3 Excom Members,

As your incoming Pubic Information (PI) Officer it's my hope to be able to
assist each section in the region to spread the word about all that is going
on in the IEEE organization both at a local as well as a national (and
international) level. We're off to a running start. Here's what's been
accomplished so far:

I'm in the process of contacting the previous PI to complete the handover. PI
"filling" has been provided to Bill LaBelle for publication in the next R3
newsletter. I've built a list of every Region 3 section's web site along with
the web sites for every student branch. The list is not perfect, but it's a
good start.

Going forward here's what I'm going to be working to accomplish:

  1. Establish contact with Section representatives
  2. Reviewing the IEEE Public Visibility Activities and Outputs (for awareness)
  3. Having a series of teleconferences with section representatives to 
	 discuss PI activities
  4. Determining and accomplishing one project with section representatives 
  5. Assisting the R3 Awards Chair in publicizing the Region 3 Awards
  6. Producing an article on Public Information for each newsletter going forward.

It's going to be a full year and I'm looking forward to the ride!
