Member Engagement Activities:

We are continuing to engage our members thru technical seminars, lunch and
learn. Thru PACE we are providing our members training on soft skills, in
addition to the use social media like LinkedIn to connect with important
people, find out more about their industry, and be found by people who want to
hire someone with their job skills. New chapter’s chair for EMBS is creating
more values for EMBS members; the chapter is becoming more active. We are in
the initial stage of creating a mentorship program with the University of
South Florida IEEE Student Branch the purpose is to match student with
professional in their field of interest. Our members are extremely active in
Teacher in Service Program; they serve as judge in science fairs and making
presentation to High school students on a regular basis. Each year we
recognize outstanding High School teachers during the engineer week banquet.

Barriers

Continue to retain and engage active members. Frustration with some of the
IEEE processes, like the new financial program.
