IEEE Region 3 Area 2 NC Council Report for April 1, 2013

In 2013, North Carolina Council has been actively engaging the leadership and
members throughout North Carolina. Several highlights of our activity include:

1. On February 2, 2013, NC Council sponsored a council meeting
  and leadership planning/training session in Greensboro for 11 
  attendees, including NC Council officers and leadership from the 
  five sections in North Carolina.  

2. The NC Council website was updated to communicate new 
   leadership and events to members throughout N. Carolina:
    https://ewh.ieee.org/r3/ncc/

3. The website is being used as a vehicle to engage members
   statewide by publicizing events within sections that may be of
   particular interest to members throughout the state.

4.  Our Treasurer, Ken Pigg, reports that the Netsuite Financial 
    reporting was approved on 3/14/2013.

5. Ongoing efforts include engaging membership by strengthening ties 
   across the state, communicating appropriate events statewide,
   and exploring new events of interest to members statewide.  

6. All section chairs within NC Council and Student Branch Leadership,
   have been invited to participate in the Area 2 NC Council meeting at 
   SoutheastCon on April 5.  Meeting agenda was also emailed with the
   invitations.  We view this as an exceptional opportunity for members
   across the state to meet, share ideas, and network.

Finally, I would like to thank our 2013 NC Council members, Rajeev Agrawal
Valentina Cecchi, Ken Pigg, Jim Corr, Claude Hargrove, Ibraheem Kateeb,
Bill Williams, and Brian Kowald.  Also, thanks to all of our NC leadership and 
NC volunteers for their generous contribution of time, effort, and talent.

Finally, we look forward to a productive NC Council and Region 3 meeting 
at SoutheastCon 2013.
