Report for Evansville-Owensboro Section, April 1, 2013, Paul Kuban, Section Chair Most fun activity/program your section has had recently? The Section participated in a tour of the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI) plant. We witnessed (almost) all stages of the creation of a Toyota Sienna mini-van and were treated to an excellent presentation by the staff. Most successful activity/program your section has had recently. We recently adopted the Concentration Banking CB-card program. Although we had a few bumps with the initial launch, the card has been working great, especially for things like the upcoming SECON event. Member Engagement Activities: What did your Section do related to member engagement beyond meetings (projects, activities, etc.)? We have provided continuing support for the IEEE student groups and for several university-based events. Section activities focused outward: What activities did your Section do related to engaging members, industry, and the public in advancing, understanding, and properly using technologies of interest to IEEE. We attempt to engage the aforementioned groups by allowing all interested parties to attend our meetings, which generally have a technical focus such as a recent "Android app programming" presentation. Barriers: What barriers does your section have in carrying out these activities? Attendance at meetings is always poor relative to the number of members, with fewer than 20 typically. Issues requiring action by the Region 3 ExCom or Committee Nothing to report.
