Savannah Section Report for Region 3 meeting, spring 2013

Our section attended an Area3 (sections in Georgia)picnic hosted by the
Central Georgia Section at Warner Robins Museum ofAviation. The weather, food,
museumtour, and camaraderiewere enjoyed by all.

The meeting at the Skidaway Oceanographic Institute inSavannah, Georgia was a
great success, with a large turnout of students,members, and invited guests.
The speakerclearly presented an overview of coastal radar being used in the
Savannah areaas well as comparable research in coastal areas of Australia.

We have not had member engagement activities beyond therecent meetings and
tours. However, many of our section members serve as science fair
judges,mentors, and facilitators. Some alsoserve as industry advisers to the
colleges and universities in the area.

Barriers include alack of volunteers and a better successionplan is needed. We
have no actionsrequiring immediate action by the Region 3 ExCom or Committee
at this time.
