Subject: Status Report from Region 3 Strategic Planning Committee

The SPC continues to meet via Web Ex and all Region 3 Committees are
encouraged to utilize this synchronous communications tool to perform their
work between face to face and electronic ExCom meetings.

The focus of the SPC in the upcoming meeting at SoutheastCon is on the
relevancy of IEEE, Region 3 and the Sections to the growth and development of
the member and to Advance the Technology for the Benefit of Humanity.

The revised Mentor List is attached and each mentor is charged with engaging
the assign committee and likewise the committees should effective utilize the
mentor's expertise in performing their work.

The review of the Region 3 Operations Manual continues and the recommended
areas include the following committees. Awards and Recognition,
Communications, Nominations and Appointments, and Area / Council Functions. If
any other committees or functions need consideration please let me know.
