I am honored to be serving Region 3 as the A&R Chair. I officially came on
board as A&R Chair in October, and am doing-and-learning at the same time; 
the process has been made easier by the great help I’ve received from 
others. Thank you all!!

Award nominations opened on October 31 and closed on Monday, December 23 
(final extension from Dec 20 to Dec 23 was due to the website being down for 
a few days). Several nominations were received, although not as many as I 
had hoped for – this year, I will begin the process earlier and hope to have 
more nominations.

The A&R Committee (ARC) consists of 13 members. The committee members were 
given access to the nomination packages, and a meeting was held on January 
16 to select winners in each category. Nine of the 13 ARC members 
participated in selecting the winners.  The selected winners will be 
presented to the R3 ExCom on January 20 for final approval. The committee 
thanks the nominators and endorsers for giving their time to honor these 
individuals and companies.

The A&R Committee will work to move our award winners forward to other 
applicable awards within IEEE.

Upcoming Award dates:

            Technical Field Awards nominations are due January 31

            Educational Activities Board Awards nominations are due April 30

            Medals nominations are due July 1

            IEEE USA Awards nominations are due July 31

            MGA Awards nominations are due October 15
