IEEE Admission and Advancement Representative


At the February meeting of the IEEE A&A Committee 27 Region 3 members were
elevated to Senior Member. Region 3 has a goal of having 175 of its members
elevated to Senior Member in 2014.  So far for 2014 we have met 15% of this
goal.  If you have been a member of IEEE for at least 10 years and can prove
“significant contribution” to the profession, then you are eligible to be
elevated to Senior Member.  If you are an active volunteer with IEEE then you
most likely have met the “significant contribution” requirement.  You may
self-nominate yourself for Senior Member.  If you self-nominate then you must
get 3 written recommendations from existing Senior Members.  If you are
nominated by another individual, then you generally only need 2 additional
recommendations.
